Breaking: Ozil And Sanchez ‘Working Together’ On New Arsenal Deals

Arsenal fans’ worst nightmare would be for either Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez to leave next summer.

The world-class duo has 18 months remaining on their contracts at the Emirates Stadium and are yet to agree extensions with Arsene Wenger.

Wages are said to be the sticking point in negotiations, with Ozil and Sanchez both reportedly demanding weekly salaries in the region of Paul Pogba’s £290,000 at Manchester United.

Wenger, however, recently explained how money isn’t the only factor at play: “I would like to say the luxury in the modern game should be it is not only about the money.

“The players make good money anyway. The money is good everywhere for everybody.

“You negotiate more with the agents than the player so we are in negotiations, of course it is normal.”

Ozil and Sanchez are said to be happy at Arsenal but considering what the likes of Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sergio Aguero are on, they should be earning a lot more money.

The pair are currently on £140,000 and £130,000-per-week respectively which, in comparison to other world-class players in the Premier League, isn’t that much.

And according to the Daily Mail, Ozil and Sanchez have a master plan to make sure they get the best possible deals at Arsenal.

The report claims that both players’ agents – Erkut Sogut for Ozil and Fernando Felicevich for Sanchez – are ‘working together’ in the knowledge that Arsenal can’t afford to lose either of them and will be forced to break the bank.

Keeping each other in the loop puts Ozil and Sanchez in a strong position, because whatever one player is offered, the other will inevitably have to be given the same.

Wenger is desperate to keep them, of course, and he insists the club will do everything in its power to make sure they put pen to paper.

“Eighteen months is quite long in football,” he added. “These players have 18 months, they will be staying 18 months and, hopefully, much longer.

“I don’t believe that it is a problem. A contract is between two parties and on my side the best position is to achieve it early.

“You have to accept that negotiations are private and secret and we don’t have to explain what we do with negotiations.

“Like always we will do the maximum of what we can for every single player.”
