The Manchester United boss has made a shocking revelation of QUITTING as the Manchester United boss if he feels he is no longer in charge of his player and the dressing room at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman almost walked out on AZ Alkamar, only to be retained after the players were adamant of his stay. Van Gaal has always the trust and support of his players, be it Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Alkamar.
Van Gaal has come under a lot of pressure after recent suggestions of him losing faith of his squad, the belief further grew when the Dutchman had a rather uncomfortable moment with Ryan Giggs after the last minute victory over Newcastle United.
Van Gaal has had to deal with the stars like Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera not performing to their standards and contract-rebel David De Gea continues to attract undue attention from Real Madrid. Despite all of this, Van Gaal claims there is right chemistry in the squad and he sees it working over the period of 1-2 seasons.
Van Gaal reminded us of his days with AZ Alkamar, where he and players worked together to achieve glory and he feels same can be achieved at United and he prefers to assess the squad chemistry with his own eyes rather than believing on hoax rumours. Van Gaal said:
“I remember when I went to AZ, a very minor club in Holland. In my first season we were second, in my second season we were third and in my third season we finished 11th.
“I said to my players that I would go away. But the players then came to my house to ask me to stay, and so did the board. So I said, ‘Okay, I will stay.’ And, in the fourth year, we were champions.”
Van Gaal reminded his critics of how he explained his philosophies to the United chiefs and then took up the job and he vows to stick to the same methods and not allow United’s financial powers come in it’s way. Van Gaal also told his critics to take it easy on suggestions of United not finishing in top 4 as there are 10 games to go and they are still there.
The United boss said: “I think they are pleased with my way of managing the club.
“I am not thinking of the consequences if we don’t finish in fourth or third.
That would be bad for the club but why do we have to speak now about things that have not happened yet?”
“I’m here to manage the professional football department and I’m here because of my qualities and my philosophy. That was spoken about in the first sessions between Ed Woodward and myself.
United are prepared to welcome Tottenham Hotspur in a crucial top 4 battle and Van Gaal has to bring the much-talked about Chemistry from his side and put on a great show to convince the doubters who do not believe in United’s ability to finish in top 4.
