According to reports in the Daily Mail, Liverpool defender Connor Randall could be heading out on loan to Championship side Preston North End before the transfer deadline.
Preston have made an enquiry to sign the 20-year-old right-back on loan or a permanent deal. The daily reported that Liverpool boss is keen for the youngster to go out for some first-team experience as he is unlikely to get a chance at Anfield due to the consistency of Nathaniel Clyne in his position.
Preston have struggled in the opening five games of their season, winning just one and losing the other four, and have lost full-back Calum Woods for the entire season due to a knee injury suffered in pre-season. A 1-0 defeat at Ipswich on Saturday have left them in the bottom three of the Championship and they are desperate to bolster their squad as soon as possible.
The youngster made seven appearances for the Reds last season and has been capped by England at under-17s level.
Randall is a versatile player who can also play in the middle of defence or as a holding midfield player apart from his usual right-back position.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside club have loaned out a number of players this season to help them gain some first-team experience. Danny Ward, Ryan Kent, Ryan Fulton, Jack Dunn, Lloyd Jones and Sam Hart have been loaned out to Football League clubs while Jon Flanagan is currently on loan at Burnley.
