According to the reports from Daily Star, Chelsea have made official bid for FC Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba. The 20-year old wing back has been in sensational form and has already drawn interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus.

The Ghana international has made 31 appearences for Augsburg last season and has created more chances than any other defender in the club. The full back also assisted 4 goals last season.

Chelsea are keen to sign the defender as Mourinho wants to make Baba his first choice left back which will help Cesar Azpilicueta to return to right-back and freeing up Branislav Ivanovic to play centre back.

The Blues have already made an official bid which is worth £10million but Augsburg are believed to want a fee closer to £15million. However, Juventus are looking to hijack Chelsea deal as the Italian giants are also keen on the player.

The player’s agent Empacher has already confirmed that his client would move to a big European club if he needs to move away from Augsburg.

He said, “If Baba has to move from Augsburg, then he is going to a top European team.”

Baba has not only impressed in attack but has also won emarkable 91 tackles and 77 headed duels last season which makes him one of the best left backs in Bundesliga at just 20 years.
