The last season’s Champions have had a very rough time this season and a clash with one of the in-form teams in this season is not what Jose Mourinho wants to start off a busy festive season. But Chelsea will travel to Leicester City for a Monday night kick-off as Claudio Ranieri will try to take his side back to the top of the League with a victory.

Mourinho used a pretty strong side against Bournemouth last week but was beaten by the Cherries. He will try to bring in some different faces to strengthen their attack. Falcao and Cahill are doubtful for this game as Zouma is set to partner Terry in defense. Matic has not looked his usual self this season might be given another outing while the lack luster Spanish mid-fielder Cesc Fabregas will once again have to be happy with a place on the bench. Here is how they might line-up against the Foxes on Monday.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Goal Keeper:

Thibaut Courtios:

Courtois has been helpless with a very ordinary performance by his defense but is a keeper of great caliber and will start for the Blues on Monday.

Defense:

Branislav Ivanovic:

The ageing left back has had a rough time this season but is the first choice wing back for Mourinho and will have to justify his place against the Foxes.

John Terry:

The Club captain will be up against the in-form Jamie Vardy, a battle that can easily decide the outcome of the game.

Kurt Zouma:

The injury to Cahill will see young Kurt Zouma start against the Foxes. He will have to be on his toes as the home side has been in good form off late.

Azpilicueta:

The best defender for Chelsea this season, the Spaniard has been good defensively and has also helped the team in their attacks.

Mid-field:

Ramires:

The Brazilian mid-fielder has been good at times but has not been consistent enough for the managers liking. He will get another chance on Monday.

Nemanja Matic:

Matic as mentioned earlier has been out of form this season but the lack of options for Mourinho will see the Serbian start again in the mid-field for Chelsea.

Willian:

The Brazilian has been one of the best players for Chelsea this season. His positivity will be very much needed by the blues if they are to pull off a victory on Monday.

Oscar:

Oscar has not really been on sensational form off late but is capable of producing moments of brilliance. His work rate impresses the manager and he will get another outing on Monday.

Eden Hazard:

The Belgian was supposed to be the source of chances for the Blues but he has not played up to the expectations but will still get a chance to prove himself against the Foxes.

Diego Costa:

The controversial striker has not hit the form we saw in the previous season. He has to soon discover his goal scoring form if the Blues are to turn their campaign around.

Mourinho at times has played Eden Hazard as a false 9. Though it did not do wonders, it helped the fluidity of the side and this might be used again by Mourinho, especially playing away from home. This will give a chance to Pedro on the flanks. Fabregas might also be given a go in place of Oscar who has not really blended into the side. This is another way that Chelsea might line-up on Monday:

Formation: 4-3-3

Courtois; Ivanovic, Terry, Zouma, Azpilicueta; Fabregas, Matic, Ramires; Willian, Pedro, Hazard.
