Rafa Benitez is all but confirmed as the manager of Real Madrid after announcing his exit from Napoli after the current Serie A season.

Benitez addressed the Italia media where he revealed his decision to quit Naples after a successful 2-season spell.

Benitez is tipped to be the next man in charge at Bernabeu and he has already planned his big summer signing.

The Spaniard is all set to raid his former club Liverpool in an attempt to bring Raheem Sterling at Bernabeu in the summer.

As per Marca, Benitez is closely following Sterling’s contract stand-off with Liverpool, which seems to be heading towards Sterling’s exit from the club.

Florentino Perez has started his re-building job after Real Madrid finished the season trophy less. As expected, Real Madrid will go after one big-name signing this summer with Paul Pogba, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling topping the hit list.

Benitez has earmarked Sterling as the key signing in the new era of Galactico along with the presence of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is yet to be seen how Liverpool react to the news of their former manager looking to prize their star away from Anfield. Benitez has been seen as one of the best Liverpool manager as he led them to the all-famous UEFA Champions League win in 2005.
