It was revealed that former Chelsea and Juventus forward Adrian Mutu had agreed a deal to join Indian Super League club FC Pune City on a three month deal. Italian newspaper Gazzetta today reported that the 35 year old Mutu was denied a Visa at the Indian embassy in Bucharest because he was “visibly drunk”.

The ex-Chelsea and Romania striker had his own controversies when he tested positive for cocaine and even after that incident, he does not appear to have changed his ways.

Pune City FC face Alessandro Del Piero’s Delhi Dynamos in their first ever ISL game today but Adrian Mutu will not feature. At the embassy the formalities reportedly dragged on and the drunk striker allegedly threatened the Romanian staff. Mutu was then told to return to get his Indian Visa when he was sober.
