Louis Van Gaal’s side has finally shown a consistent form in the recent weeks and with 6 consecutive wins Manchester United are back in form and will be travelling to Villa Park on Saturday. Where the Red Devils have performed and enjoyed much success since the beginning of the Premier League.
Aston Villa saw their unbeaten run of five matches come to end when West Brom defeated Paul Lambert’s side 1-0. Louis Van Gaal side is back in confidence and have won successive 6 games that include a 3-0 thrashing of Liverpool and winning both away games at Southampton and Arsenal.
Centre – back Philippe Sender is ruled out due to injury, right-back Alan Hutton is also out due to suspension after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season. And with Nathan Baker a doubt to feature, Paul Lambert will face problems in maintaining balance in the defence.
Former Manchester United player Kieran Richardson is also ruled out to face the old club due to suspension. Tom Cleverley is also not eligible to face his parent club. Joe Cole and Ashely Westwood are also out due to injury. Libor Kozak is also not yet back from injury.
Manchester United is finally relieved from the injury crisis they were facing from the start of the season. Numerous players have finally returned from injuries which strengthened the defence by maintaining a clean sheet last weekend.
Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw,Rafael and Chris Smalling are still side-lined and doubtful to start at Villa Park. The same back trio of Micheal Carrick, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans can be expected to start against Aston Villa.
Manchester United is still without Jesse Lingard and Daley Blind who are both out due to injuries. Angel De Maria is also doubtful to start in this match also.
Charles N’Zogbia can get a start in the starting line-up due to a lot of absentees in midfield. Ron Vlaar who made a cameo appearance in the last fixture can be introduced in the line-up by replacing Ciaran Clark.
Van Gaal has lined up three players in the back against lower half sides a number of times this season and with so many defensive players side-lined due to injury the Dutchman can deploy the same. Wayne Rooney played mostly in the midfield against Liverpool and could play at the same position. We can expect Falcao to come as a substitute rather than in starting line-up.
Ron Vlaar vs Robin Van Persie
Robin Van Persie has been in brilliant form and with his brilliant pace can see chances against Aston Villa’s defence. Ron Vlaar has not played much in the recent fixtures and he will be tested by his fellow countryman. Aston Villa is also without a lot of regular back players and Manchester United can use this advantage to win the game.
Fabian Delph vs Juan Mata
Juan Mata was one of the key playmakers last weekend and excellently performed the number 10 role against Liverpool. Fabian Delph is known for breaking up the play of the opposition but commits a lot of foul and gives away a number of set pieces. Manchester United’s playmaker will create a lot of problem for Villa’s defence and any set pieces near the edge of the box can be harmful for the home side.
Prediction:Aston Villa 0-2 Manchester United
David De Gea maintained a clean sheet and was the man of the match last weekend against Liverpool. The Spaniard can be expected to show the same performance this weekend at Villa Park. United’s defence will not have much problem as Paul Lambert’s man hasn’t scored much this season. We are expecting Manchester United to maintain their winning streak against Aston Villa this weekend.
