Ex-Arsenal, City, Tottenham striker still earns 175K pounds per week from 2 EPL clubs without playing

This is hilarious. Emmanuel Adebayor is still being paid a stunning £175,000-a-week. For what? Not to play football!

Tottenham are paying him £100,000-per-week whereas Manchester City have no other choice but to supplement that by £75,000-a-week, as part of the contract agreed when the Togo international was transferred between the clubs 3 years ago.

The most interesting part is, unless Adebayor joins a new club, he will earn £5.25million between now and the end of his Tottenham deal which expires on 30th June, 2016.

The striker was eventually released by Spurs last September after he was not included in their Premier League or Europa League teams.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino mentioned at the end of last campaign that he doesn’t need Adebayor any more at White Hart Lane.

The 31-year-old striker surprisingly opted to train with the younger squads despite grabbing an offer to continue training with the first team

Adebayor also had the choice to make the move to West Ham on the transfer deadline day, but somehow refused to leave Tottenham, who were ready to pay a percentage of his wages, unless West Ham paid him £5m.

After being released by the club, he is now spending time in Togo and Ghana, happily earning his wages while posting pictures of himself lounging by pools or posing with classic cars daily.

“I figured out the only reason to be alive is to enjoy it,” he wrote this line in one of the image’ caption. What it looks like, he is definitely doing that.

However, Adebayor is keen to return to English football as the veteran striker is looking to continue his career in Premier League. Reports say, he will be coming back to London next week and Chelsea are rumoured to be showing some interest as they are desperate to overcome their striker problems and it also has been suggested that Adebayor would love to work with his former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho again.
