According to latest reports from Spain, Villarreal are ready to make an audacious attempt to sign Manchester United star midfielder Juan Mata.
The former Chelsea player is reportedly unhappy with the new manager Jose Mourinho as he is not big in the manager’s plans going into the new season.
The 28-year old is one of the best midfielders for the Red Devils last season but has not played any big role in the pre-season this summer.
Mourinho who sold the player to Manchester United during his reign at Chelsea is not going to plan any big for the player as the player who came as a substitute during Community Shield was again subbed off during the end of the game.
Villarreal are keen to sign Mata as he could provide much-needed creativity to they attack. The club has dealt a major blow with the news that Roberto Soldado will miss several months of action with a cruciate ligament injury.
The Spanish club are keen on a loan deal for the Spanish international with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan deal.
The wages of the 28-year old is proving to be a major stumbling block for the Spanish club as Mata need to take a major pay cut if he wants to force a move.
