Former Barcelona star Hristo Stoichkov has urged current FC Barcelona winger Pedro not to leave the club this summer to join Manchester United. Stoichkov who had played under Louis van Gaal at Barcelona feels that the Dutch manager is not a good person and he would destroy Pedro’s career at the Premier League.
He further added that Louis van Gaal was the one who had destroyed Barcelona during his tenure and now he is destroying the Red Devils.
Sky Sports quoted Hristo Stoichkov: “I would never be under the orders of Van Gaal. He’s mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Man Utd.
“With what he has done to goalkeeper [Victor] Valdes he has shown he is a bad person. Hopefully Pedro listens to me and doesn’t leave.”
Luis Enrique had suggested a few days back that it is upto the player if he wants to leave. Pedro is understood to be not happy at the club after lack of chances in the starting lineup. Manchester United have sold off Argentine winger Angel Di Maria a few days back to PSG and now they are in search of a quality midfielder. Pedro perfectly suits their demand.
Also, Pedro Rodruguez to Manchester United transfer rumours have got stimulated after his team mate Dani Alves has suggested that the Spanish winger should listen to his heart and if he feels he should leave Barcelona for Manchester United.
Alves seaking to the media said: “Ultimately the decisions don’t come to me, they are for other people.
“The more people interfere, the harder the decision is. Of course if I had to make the decision it would be for him to stay here for many more years.
“It’s down to him and his heart but if he stays we’ll be delighted, if not we’ll respect his decision.
“If you feel you’re not wanted at a club you have to go. Let’s hope he doesn’t make that decision.”
Barcelona take on Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup game on Tuesday. Pedro is set to start in the game as Neymar is out of action due to health troubles.
