In a shocking news being reported by Fichajes, it is believed that Chelsea are plotting a surprise move for Arsenal’s superstar Mesut Ozil. The news gathered momentum over the weekend after the Spanish media claimed that Jose Mourinho is keen on a re-union with the German playmaker.

Arsenal fans will not take kindly to the news especially after how Ozil has slowly managed to prove his worth this season after his £42.5 million move from Real Madrid. Ozil has been subject to a constant criticism by the Arsenal fans for the lack of passion and hunger on the pitch by the German.

Jose Mourinho knows Mesut Ozil really well since the special one brought Ozil at Real Madrid after the German playmaker had a successful 2010 World Cup. Together, the pair won La Liga, Copa Del Ray and Supercopa de Espana during their time at Bernabeau.

Mourinho is yet to find an ideal man to play in the role of central playmaker behind his strikers and the Chelsea manager sees Ozil as the best man to do that job. Arsenal will oppose any bid from Chelsea as Arsene Wenger spent a fortunes to get his man from Real Madrid and he cannot allow Ozil to join his direct rivals.

Mesut Ozil was recently speaking to Sport Magazine where he was heard defending himself from the constant jibes by the Arsenal fans for having a weak work rate.

Ozil said: “If you look at my statistics, I am one of the players who covers the most distance.

Also, if you look at the stats in terms of assists and creating chances, they are all pretty good.

“I know some people might want me to make X-number of passes – but people often miss what goes on off the ball.

“I’m not really bothered what critics say. What’s important is what the manager and coaching staff think.

“I am a team player, I just care about always giving 100 per cent for the team.”

These words signal no intent of leaving Emirates anytime soon. The news of Ozil joining Chelsea is heavily circled by the Spanish media so if you are an Arsenal fan reading this, it is not time to hit the panic button I do not see Ozil joining hands with Jose Mourinho in near future.
