Daniel Sturridge who moved to Anfield from Chelsea back in 2012 has been a great revelation as well as a massive let down for the team as he has been exceedingly lethal as a goalscorer but has been plagued by injuries again and again over his Red career.
He has a total of 44 goals from 72 matches for the Merseyside club which have been the result of some lovely striker play from the English International but has only three starts over the campaign so far in which he has been taken off to be replaced due to an injury.
This recurrence has frustrated Klopp enough that he has had enough and would rather sign someone dependable and is understood to be ready to listen to offers around the 25 million mark which is a steal for a player of his calibre.
He has also previously expressed concern about Daniel’s issues stating:
“Daniel had some problems, not serious, but could not make a session and we had to wait a day,”
“It is how a pre-season can be. Some little things happen and we have to handle this. It is not a row of sessions and we say ‘Now we are here and go…’”
“When he is fit, we will pick him, but at this moment because he didn’t have one session with the team he’s not available.”
“I will pick him when he is ready, I will not hold him back. Because he didn’t have one session with the team it was not the usual plan for this week.”
Sturridge meanwhile is understood to be battling to keep his position but the fact that he has only played over 100 minutes in total for Klopp doesn’t make his position any better.
