Liverpool started life in their renovated stadium in style as they comfortably beat Premier League champions Leicester City by 4-1.
The Merseyside club looked in total control after Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane gave them a 2-0 lead but the reigning champions were given hope when Lucas inexplicably passed the ball to Leicester forward Jamie Vardy to shoot into an empty net and reduce the deficit. But a beautiful goal by Adam Lallana when he fired a shot into the top corner gave the Reds a breathing space before Firmino scored his second goal to seal the game. With this won, Liverpool have now seven points from four games compared and are now fifth in the table.
Meanwhile, Leicester have started the new season poorly and this is their second loss in four games. With four points they are in 15th position on the table as they prepare for their Champions League debut against Club Brugge on Wednesday.

There's no point talking about individuals here, everyone played brilliantly today. Well done Liverpool!

Big wave and grin from Klopp to the #LFC owners and the Main Stand as he exits down the tunnel. A fine day for the club.

Firmino is just class. I love him. His workrate. His technical ability on the ball. A beautiful footballer

I thought Mané only played well for four games a season? Weird that all of them have came in a row, right at the start.

Adam Lallana has had an excellent start to season, finally showing form he displayed for Southampton in 2013/14, when he was devastating.
