Having taken 4 points from the first 3 games of the new season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have made a decent start to the new Premier League season.

The manager has bought in a number of star signings to add quality and depth to his squad and has already seen a couple of them excel in their new role.

However, these signings have meant that the players who are already at the club will fall out of favor and may end up leaving the club.

One such player who is now on the verge of moving away from Anfield is Serbian winger Lazar Markovic.

The 22-year old moved to Liverpool from Benfica a couple of years ago under Brendan Rodgers who used his as a wing back.

This saw the winger fail to prove himself at the club even after repeated opportunities and was loaned to Fenerbahce on a season long loan at the start of the previous season.

His time in Turkey was not too productive as the Turkish outfit revealed that they are not ready to sign him on a permanent deal which has seen the player move back to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp, the new manager gave him enough opportunities to prove himself but having failed to do so, Markovic was put on the transfer market by the manager.

The likes of AC Milan, Schalke and Newcastle Untied were repeatedly linked with a move for the winger this summer but it looked like he would stay put after failing to find a right club that is ready to give him enough game time.

It was also revealed that the player did not want to move back to Portugal with Portugal giants Sporting interested in his signature.

However, late on deadline day, reports suggest that Markovic has agreed to move back to Portugal and play for Sporting on a season long loan.

It is understood that Markovic is keen on a reunion with the former Benfica boss Jorge Jesus who is now incharge of Sporting this season.

It will be interesting to see if the Serbian has any future at Anfield or if he has already played his last game for the Reds.

Do you think Liverpool should keep hold of Markovic this summer?
