Jurgen Klopp’s appointment, 8 games into the Premier League season raised some eyebrows but come to the end of the season, there will be plenty of positives that the German can take from the shortcoming and positives from the current season.

However, he will be up for a busy summer in the transfer window with a number of big-money deals waiting to happen at the Red of Merseyside.

The defense looks stronger with the likes of Joel Matip already added to the squad but the left back position still remains a concern for the Anfield outfit.

And according to recent reports, Lorient and Portugal’s Raphaël Guerreiro and Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell are two players being monitored by Liverpool for a potential move this summer.

This will leave the likes of Steven Caulker, Alberto Moreno and Martin Skrtel out of favor before the start of the next season.

In midfield, Lucas and Can have not done enough for Klopp’s liking who is reportedly eyeing Polish midfielder, Piotr Zieliński who is on loan at Empoli from Udinese. He is a superb midfield player with plenty of energy and dynamism and can fit into Klopp’s plans without any trouble.

Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder, Granit Xhaka is another player of interest who is also on the radar of a number of top clubs in Europe.

But the biggest deal for Klopp’s Liverpool this summer could be to lure German international midfielder and World Cup winner Mario Gotze.

Gotze had a great relationship with Klopp at Dortmund in his breakthrough season before he moved on to Bayern Munich a few seasons ago. However, he has not got enough game time for his liking and has already expressed his views on a move away from Germany earlier this season.

If the move comes through, current squad player Christian Benteke and on-loan striker Mario Balotelli will both be up for sale in the summer.

Another problem for the Reds has been their shot stopper Simon Mingolet. Mignolet is a superb shot-stopper but is not too far away from a mistake in crucial games. He cannot handle pressure and though his record against penalties is impressive, he will not be guaranteed a no.1 spot in Klopp’s team next season.

Barcelona’s Marc-Andre-Ter Stegen is on the radar for the English club for a move this summer. The German national has not played a single league game in Catalunya this season and is keen on a move to the Premier League. He is at the top of the list which includes a number of others from Europe.

Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are still to come back from injury and play under Klopp while Lazar Markovic who is having a decent season on loan might also provide Klopp with depth in the squad.

It will, however, be interesting to see how many of the players Klopp wants to keep from this current crop of Liverpool players but if the German wants to win the league, he will have to take his time in accumulating the right squad with proper balance.

Do you think Klopp can get Liverpool silverware next season?
