Lille’s Divock Origi is close to join Liverpool, according to Tony Barrett of The Times.

Tottenham Hotspur are also looking to sign the 19-year-old, but it now appears Liverpool have won the race to sign the highly rated Belgian international. He scored 5 goals in 30 appearances for Lille. Origi scored the winner for Belgium against Russia last week.

Recently, Origi admitted he wanted to play in the Premier League.

“As a little boy I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League,” he said. “But I’m still young and now I’m in an important tournament so I’m try to focus on the team.

“Then my entourage will see with Lille what I’ll do.”

Tony Barrett also suggests that Liverpool will loan him back to Lille, as the player requires more playing time. The arrival of Origi has nothing to do with the possibility of Luis Suarez leaving Anfield. Meanwhile, Liverpool remain interested in signing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. According to Tony Barrett, Sanchez remains a “serious target” for Liverpool and if Barcelona want Luis Suarez they could use Sanchez as a makeweight.

Meanwhile, Spanish youngster Luis Alberto has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan. Malaga will pay £1m loan fee and all his wages.
