According to reports, Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is a major doubt for Monday night’s clash against Arsenal. Henderson has missed training all week after a foot injury forced Brendan Rodgers to substitute him early in the second half against Bournemouth on Monday. In the abscence of Jordan Henderson, vice-captain James Milner will take the captain’s armband while the likes of Emre Can and Lucas Leiva might replace him in the starting XI.
Time is running out for the newly appointed Liverpool skipper to improve his fitness before the game against Arsenal, but reports suggest the England international hasn’t broken a bone but has an ongoing issue with the ball of his foot, and Liverpool might not be willing to risk one of their key members so early in the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have offered French international Mamadou Sakho a new 100k/w contract, despite Brendan Rodgers leaving him out of the squad against Bournemouth. Reports suggest Sakho is still regarded as an important member in the squad, and the Merseyside outfit don’t want to sell him. Liverpool have rejected loan offers from both Roma and Bayer Leverkusen and want Sakho to stay at Anfield.
