According to La Parisien, PSG star Edinson Cavani might be on his way to Anfield after being regularly played on the wings. Cavani who made is name as a centre forward at Napoli is frustrated and is considering his options if his role doesn’t change.
“He’s not considering staying with PSG for another year if his role doesn’t change,” a source told the paper.
“He [understands that he] needs to play down the wing in the interests of the team, as he has for the last two years.”
Belgian stiker Christian Benteke has also been linked with a move to Anfield, while the Reds have already signed his national teammate Divock Origi. Eris Kismet has confirmed there is no interest in his client, and is solely focused on Villa’s survival battle in the Premier League.
“At the moment, there is no interest,” Kismet told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Every player and staff member is concentrated on avoiding relegation, anything else is just a distraction.
“I know everyone wants the same thing because I watch the games and I think Aston Villa are playing the best football in England right now.”
PSV forward Memphis Depay might also be on his way to Anfield, after admitting there has been no contact with Manchester United. Earlier, several media outlets reported Depay was in England to meet representatives from Liverpool and was very impressed.
“There’s absolutely no truth in that,” he told reporters in the Netherlands. “I haven’t spoken to Manchester United.”
“If that would become reality, it would be fantastic,” he added. “It is a dream to make a transfer with such a big impact.
“But I already said, there is a lot of speculation and a lot of stories, but I don’t know how things will work out, so let’s wait and see. It would be great to go to one of the big competitions this summer, but for now I don’t want to speak about that.”
