Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will have another winger in his ranks next season in the name of Nani whom the manager is not interested in. The player has been shipped out to his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon on loan last summer.

The player was handed a massive new contract in 2013 by David Moyes and the Red Devils need to pay remaining £17m in the coming three years. Louis van Gaal is not interested in the player as he is surplus to his requirements.

The player is excellent to Sporting Lisbon and United have paid his £110,000-a-week wages throughout his loan spell. Despite Sporting Lisbon keen on making the move permanent, they cannot afford his wages which will see United no potential suitors to buy the winger.

With the Red Devils recently signing Memphis Depay, the player will now be below Depay, Angel di Maria, Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young and Valencia in the pecking order. The player looks surplus to their requirements as they have many quality wingers in their squad.

Louis van Gaal have made it clear that the player has no future in his system and want to offload him soon but if they can’t offload him it will eventually cost them 17 million.

Nani had an impressive season scoring 11 goals in 35 appearances for Sporting Lisbon this season. Asked about his return to Old Trafford, he said: “The fans asked me to stay but we all know it is hard. I am very happy to have spent a year at Sporting but I have a contract with Manchester United and my ambitions are different this time.”
