Manchester United are going to pursue German and Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller again in January, according to reports from the Metro.
Throughout the summer, the Red Devils were interested in the World Cup winner but could not bring him to the Theater of Dreams.
Spanish media Fichajes says that Manchester United are going to be back in the hunt of the superstar once again in the winter transfer window.
Manchester United are struggling with striker options as Wayne Rooney was having a 10 match goal drought before getting injured.
Anthony Martial is also too young and inexperienced to lead the attack for the whole season. Muller will be a huge signing if Manchester United can get him and will solve their goalscoring woes.
Louis van Gaal has a good relationship with the player whom he managed during his Bayern days and he was the one to give a breakthrough into the first team.
During the summer transfer window, Thomas Muller has described reports Manchester United are prepared to spend €100m on him as ‘crazy’.
“It’s basically crazy the numbers which are currently kicking around in football – that’s just business,” Muller told German broadcaster Sport1.
Muller also saw the funny side of the endless speculation on Monday, when he played in a testimonial match against Dynamo Dresden.
“In Dresden, a fan addressed me with a megaphone: ‘Hey €100m man, what is your playing shirt worth?’ That made me smile,” Muller added.
