Manchester United in crisis: Mourinho wants to sell at least 3 star players

  • Mourinho believes Chelsea have a ‘much easier’ schedule than Manchester United next season.

Jose Mourinho won’t be able to make any more signings until the club offload some players and the Portuguese boss has reportedly identified three players whom he wants to offload to raise money. The players are believed to be Daley Blind, Schweinsteiger and Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj’s move to Sunderland is almost done deal, but Schweinsteiger remains in doubt as United yet to identify a suitable buyer. Schalke, Inter Milan have shown interest but the German midfielder’s huge wage seems to the main problem.

Blind have already told that he wants to stay at Manchester United but the new Old Trafford boss thinks a bit different. He has believed to be decided the Dutchman’s future and it’s not at United.

The Portuguese boss is keen to add another defender to his ranks during the transfer window.

He has already brought in Eric Bailly to bolster his defence, while marquee signings Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have all made the move to Manchester.

But ESPN claims Mourinho has been told by club officials that his transfer plans will be put on hold until more players are shipped out.

Mourinho is thought to be willing to axe around 10 players including big names like Adnan Januzaj and Bastian Schweinsteiger, while Juan Mata’s future also looks uncertain.

The only players that have so far been sold for a fee are Paddy McNair and Donald Love. The young duo both completed moves to Sunderland yesterday for a combined £5.5m.

United kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.

The new Premier League season brings a renewed sense of belief and excitement to the Manchester United supporters as the Jose Mourinho era takes shape.

Having missed out on Champions League football in two of the past three seasons, a return to Europe’s top club competition is a must.

When he was officially unveiled as the new manager Mourinho, made it clear he wanted to make four signings to help revitalise an underperforming United squad.

In the past few days the 53-year-old has got his wish following the signing of Paul Pogba, who returns to the club from Juventus to add real quality in midfield.

The summer started off with central defender Eric Bailly joining from Villarreal who has already looked at home in the heart of defence in pre-season friendlies. Next came, the one and only Zlatan Ibrahimović who brings a wealth of top level experience and appears to be getting better with age.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s arrival the club is the one, United arguably needed the most, a player who can pick out a pass and knows where the back of the net is.
