Chelsea have secured a coup as they are on the verge of signing the in-form striker, Alexandre Pato from Corinthians for a loan deal over the winter window. It comes at a time when Chelsea fans have been excessively nervy about the red-hot Diego Costa succumbing to injury as he and Fabregas start to link up once again and tear apart defence after another in league and cup.
Pato comes to Chelsea from the Brazilian league where he has been plundering goals for fun and has been named one of the best strikers in the league. It is an awkward arrangement for Pato considering that he has been scoring all these goals for Sao Paolo FC, where he had been on loan until now, and not for Corinthians, who have constantly rejected the possibility to have him back in the side.
The player was spotted with ex-Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa, who has updated his Instagram with a picture taken during the said catch-up with the striker and has wished him all the luck during his English adventure and also congratulated Chelsea on securing themselves a great signing considering that he will be a six-month long loan player with an option to buy in the summer, making it a relatively risk free investment.
Massa wrote: “Brother I’m sure it’s gonna be very good for you!! Happy birthday and a lot of strength, let’s go!! @Pato I am sure it will be very good for you my bro!! Congrats @chelseafc.”
The deal would’ve been the deal of the decade had it been 5 years ago, but a loan deal still represents great value for a player who was named the ‘best inside left in the world’ by his previous coach.
His tweet read:
Vai ser muito bom pra vc irmão ! Tenho certeza !! Great bro will be very good for you !! I am sure !! @AlexandrePato
