Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia for a reported fee of €35 million.
The Lens youth product had an excellent individual season at the Stade Louis II, netting thrice in 33 appearances across all competitions.
The 22-year-old was close to joining Inter’s rivals AC Milan, only to be persuaded by the Nerazzurri manager Roberto Mancini.
Kondogbia will now fly to Italy today to complete his medical and pending formalities, having signed a 5-year-contract worth €4 million per season plus bonuses.

FA Cup winners Arsenal, who were eliminated by Kondogbia’s Monaco, were also credited with an interest in the French International, while Tottenham Hotspur were ready to rival their London rivals to pursue the former Sevilla man.
A product of the famed Lens academy, Kondogbia was snapped up by Sevilla for a modest fee of €3 million. The defensive meidfielder, who is capped by France at all levels, shot to prominence with Sevilla after a stellar season at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, compelling newly promoted Monaco to spend €20 million on the precocious youngster.
