It has been just a few days since newly appointed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has joined his squad and his influence is clear right away as the Brazilian winger has agreed to commit his future at the Stamford Bridge.
Seeing your one of the best players signing a new deal is surely a great boost to any manager, especially if one is preparing for his debut season. Willian has reportedly signed a £120,000 per week contract, which will keep him at the club till 2020.
The 2015/16 season was a disaster for Chelsea, but the only player who was consistent throughout the season was Willian. The 27 year old attacker netted 13 goals last season, which earned him both Chelsea’s player of the year award and players’ player award.
In August 2013, Willian joined the Premier League club from Anzhi Makhachkala and still had two years left in his contract. But signing a new deal has increased his wage by a huge margin, he used to earn £85,000 per week and now after signing the new deal his wage is £120,000 per week.
Former Chelsea boss and current Man United manager Jose Mourinho also had his eyes on the Brazilian ace, but Chelsea made the correct move by extending his contract. Now as Willian has signed a new contract the London club have made it clear that they don’t want to sell Willian.
