Arsene Wenger must be sick of taking other managers’ advice concerning Arsenal’s performances. After Jose Mourinho’s constent barging, now it is Pep Guardiola, who has come out to share his opinion on why Arsenal lost their Champions League clash against Dinamo Moscow on Matchday 1. Bayern Munich will be playing against Dinamo this week and Guardiola vows not to repeat the same mistake that Arsenal did.
Speaking ahead of the game, Guardiola said: “Every day and every week is important. The most important thing now is Dinamo Zagreb,” he said.
“You’d normally think Arsenal would win in Zagreb, but then you watch the game and you see straight away why Dinamo won. They are very organised, very aggressive.
“They have very technical players and we need to approach the game with great seriousness.
“They played well in defence, with their players showing discipline by maintaining their shape. Forty-five games without losing… this must be a really strong squad – it won’t be easy.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring us into a good position for the game against Arsenal. You have to win your home games to get ahead.”
By these comments, Guardiola has fired a warning to the other teams in their group as the Bundesliga Champions look to get a foothold in this season’s Champions League campaign. As for Arsenal, they host Olympiakos in their next game in Champions League with Gunners looking to get their first win after the opening day defeat against Dinamo.
