The January transfer window is a month for tweaks, bargains, panic buys or a bit of what a top club might fancy, and while this year the number of deals was restrained, in English Premier League the total spent, £175m, is historically hefty, and another signal of their financial dominance. As 2016 is coming to an end, let’s take a look at top ten winter transfers this year.

The Senegalese striker was a surprisingly expensive purchase for the Toffees on transfer deadline day. Though nobody is claiming Niasse will tear up the Premier League like Romelu Lukaku has been doing lately, his 13 goals this season are nothing to sniff at and he’ll boost Everton’s limited attacking options.
