With a lot of love, rumours have been flying from Spain that suggest Real Madrid are in hot pursuit of the Chilean striker who has been on a terrific run for his current club Arsenal.
Alexis Sanchez came to Arsenal from Barcelona and in his first season scored 16 goals for the Gunners. And this season his scintillating form has again invited interests from the Spanish giants. Real Madrid’s attempts at getting the Chilean were snubbed in October when Sanchez said that “I’m happy with my team-mates and the city of London is beautiful. I’m not going to change, I’m very happy.”
After a slow start to his season, Sanchez has come to the foray having scored three goals for Chile during the international break and then lighting up the Champions League with his brace against Dinamo Zagreb. Sanchez is also attributed to being the players with the most number of dribbles (29) in one of the most prestigious Club competition in the world.
Real Madrid’s interest in the Chilean is justified as the club wants everything that shines. The frontrunner in the Alexis to Madrid rumour has been the Spanish website Fichajes.net which said that Real Madrid is planning a move for Sanchez. But the main impediment in this transfer is Sanchez’s position at Arsenal and it is said that he is ready to sign a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium which might hamper the plans of the Madrid outfit.
Another hurdle is more of a battle of the ego involving Sanchez’s past with Barcelona and Madrid will not be very keen to side step that minor detail. Or would they? Its Real Madrid anything can happen!
An interest in Sanchez also highlights Madrid’s mindset as they would enter the market in January in the light of news that either Ronaldo or Bale is set to leave Santiagio Bernebau. Finding suitable replacements would be on top of the agenda and it will soon become clear whether Sanchez would be the new inductee in the Royal Club.
