After PSG’s defeat at the Etihad, there is not much left for the French outfit to play for this season having taken an unassailable lead in the domestic season.
But being knocked out of the Champions League yet against at the quarter-final stage will unsettle a number of players at the club.
With star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic already leaving the club and Cavani being linked with a number of clubs, PSG are dealt another blow as a host of European clubs are trying to get their hands on defender Marquinhos.
The Brazilian international moved to PSG from Roma for £25m three years ago and has since been impressive under Laurent Blanc.
But in the current season, he has fallen down the pecking order and is willing to leave the club this summer as reported by the Mirror recently.
He has made 32 appearances in all competitions for PSG but most of them have come from the bench and it is understood that the player is frustrated with his situation at the club.
And the English outfit Manchester United is linked with the 21-year old for a move this summer.
Fichajes, a Spanish Newspaper outlet claims that the Red Devils are keen on bringing the player to Old Trafford and are willing to spend up to £50m to activate his release clause at the end of this season.
However, they will be plenty of competition for United with Arsenal and Chelsea also reportedly monitoring his status at the moment.
Both clubs are in an overhaul this summer and believe that Marquinhos is a good addition to their squad.
But even tougher competition is set to come from Spain as Barcelona are also reportedly interested in the 21-year old.
With Busquets the only defensive midfielder, the Catalan giants want the Brazilian international to increase the depth in the squad.
With a number of clubs interested, PSG will also not hold out for a small fee and will want any club to meet his release clause even before starting negotiations.
The 21-year is still young at his trade and will only get better but a £50m price tag might see one of the big guns snatch him up this summer.
Where do you think Marquinhos will play next season?
