Things at Old Trafford don’t look too bright as the disciplinarian has imposed yet another rule and the players are finding it difficult to handle it anymore.
Louis Van Gaal runs a very tight ship and if you don’t agree with the boss well you are a goner (remembering Victor Valdes!). Van Gaal’s tactics have ensured a good standing for Manchester United in the league but they lack the flair that has always been synonymous with the Red Devils. The constant practice sessions have become a problem for the family of the players and now a new addition to the tactics of Van Gaal is a certain ‘supper club’.
Under this new rule the team undergoes a series of meetings before home matches and the meetings then end with a light meal of cereal and toast at 10pm! The players seem to have run out of patience with Rooney and Carrick already stating that this is having a negative impact on the players. And whats more, this is not only a home routine but also an away practice as well!
The fans too are not enjoying the game of their team as they used to and have been very vocal about getting rid of the Dutchman. Even though the results are in his favour, Van Gaal’s tactics are arguably sucking the fun out of the game and making it seem like business. The players cannot grow and work in such a mechanical environment and it is very clear from their manner of the pitch that they lack the spark and are just following the orders of the dutch puppeteer.
A reliable source said “There’s no fun, no banter — just lots of meetings. The body language of the players isn’t right, and there’s no expression when they go out to play.” And surely if Van Gaal continues like this giving no room for the players to breathe, it will kill all the individuality in the team making it a bunch of players out their to do just as they are told and we know that ain’t football!
