India is going to participate in the World Hockey League semi finals being played at Antwerp, Belgium from 20th June to 5th July will be good preparation for the Indian team. It will be interesting to see the type of play the Indian team play in this tournament. India is grouped with France, Poland, Australia and Pakistan.

The Indian team did exceptionally well in the previous tournament at the Azlan Shah tournament in which the Indian team finished 3rd after a poor start in the tournament. The new found confidence has helped India perform well in the recent past and will be seeking for a good show in Belgium. Their first match will against France after which followed by Poland. The biggest match of the tournament will be against Pakistan and their last match against mighty Australia.

The Indian team won their first practice match against France while lost 2nd practice match against Belgium. This team needs to play some good hockey if they have to progress. This is their best chance to know their strengths and weakness. The captain Sardar Singh will be of great help and the Indian team must take care that they must play to their best.

While in women’s section India has to play some good hockey if they have to progress to Olympics which will be their biggest motivation. Let’s see who comes on top
