Once again, the Indian contingent failed to win a Gold or a Silver medal in the third day of the 2014 Asian Games. Indian trio of Heena Sidhu, Anisha Sayyadand Rahi Sarnabot won Bronze in women’s 25 m Air Pistol team event before Dipika Pallikal settled for Bronze in the women’s singles squash. Her male compatriot Saurav Goshal made it to the finals of the men’s singles competition. Both Men’s and Women’s tennis team failed to make it to the semis after losing to Kazakhstan in the quarters. Here are the results of Indians in Day 3 of the 2014 Games.

Basket Ball:

India beat Kazakhstan 80-61 in the men’s Group B clash.


Jordon beat India 2-0 in the men’s First Round.


Indian women beat Thailand 3-0 in a Pool A match.


India’s women lose to China 12-39 in their 3rd group match. 

The men’s team were not much better either losing 12-47 to Japan in their 3rd group match.


Rajwinder Kaur failed to make it to the medal classification round in Women’s +78 kg Quarterfinal.


Rahi Sarnabot finished seventh in the women’s 25 M Air Pistol Rapid Fire Finals.

Ayonika Paul fails to clinch a medal in the women’s 10 M Air Pistol.

Heena Sidhu, Ayesha Sayyed and Rahi Sarnabot won Bronze in women’s 25 m Air Pistol team event.


Dipika Pallikal lost in the semi Finals to Malaysia’s Nicole David 11-4 11-4 11-5

Saurav Goshal qualifies for the Finals after defeating Malaysia’s Om Beng Hee 11-9, 11-4, 11-5 in the men’s SF clash.


Prathapan Nair failed to qualify for the men’s 50m Backstroke Semi Finals.


Kazakhstan defeated India 2-0 men’s team event quarter finals.

Kazakhstan defeated India 2-0 women’s team event quarter finals.

Volley Ball:

India lost to Japan 6-25 11-25 12-25 in the women’s Preliminary Round
