Indian girls team lost in the quarter finals of the Junior Squash World Cup when they lost to 0-3 to Egypt last night. They had failed to top the table of Group B after losing to USA in their group B match in the Junior World Cup that is taking place at Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Semi-finals the contenders Egypt made a light work on India as they beat them 2-0. In the first tie of the match, Habiba Mohammed beat Adya Advani 11-3 11-5 11-3 in just 12 minutes with absolutely no resistance. In the second tie, the process and the outcome was no better as Salma Hany Ibrhaim beat Nikita Joshi with a similar margin of 11-5, 11-6 and 11-3 with the match lasting just five minutes more than the first. Harshit Kaur gave a walk over to Madlen O’Connor in the third and final tie after it became inconsequential courtesy the losses in the first two ties.

In the group final match against USA, Sabrina Sobhy beat Adya Advani 11-4, 11-5 and 11-9 in the first tie 21 minutes. In the second tie, Harshit Kaur too lost her tie and in the third match, Akanksha Salunkhe showed some resistance against Kavley Leonard as she stretched the match for 4 sets before losing 7-11, 12-10, 4-11 and 8-11

The 7th ranked Indian girls will now meet 6th ranked New Zealand for final ranking later today. Top seeds Egypt, USA, England and Malaysia complete the final 4.
