Five time World Champion and the Gold medallist in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games MC Mary Kom met India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi last night and invited him for inaugurating her Boxing academy in Manipur which is scheduled in the month of April.

Mary Kom called on Mr. Modi and the Prime Minister later tweeted the pictures of the meeting with the World Champion.

“I sought an appointment on Tuesday and he was ready to meet me on Wednesday itself which was a very nice gesture on his part. I wanted to invite him for the inauguration of my academy in Manipur. Its construction will be completed in April. I told him I would wait for him to find time for the inauguration and only then go ahead with the formal function. He has promised that he would try his level best to make it, so let’s see. He came across as a very gracious host and I felt very good after meeting him,” Mary Kom quoted to PTI about the meeting between her and the PM.

Mary also spoke on high regards about Mr. Modi for his down to earth nature. She said that Mr. Modi was very warm while hearing her out and also promised her to fulfil her needs in future.

“He was very warm. He told me that I can approach him anytime if I need as I am like his daughter. He told me, being a daughter, I can come to his residence whenever I need. It was very nice to meet him,” she concluded.
