Karim Benzema scored twice and set up another as Real Madrid thrashed Eibar 4-1 to get back to winning ways after a 3-3 stalemate against Las Palmas midweek.
The reigning European champions were without the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos and Marcelo in their starting XI but did not miss them much due to Benzema’s brilliant display in front of the goal.
Zinedine Zidane’s men opened the scoring after 14 minutes when Benzema found the back of the net after his initial shot was saved by Eibar goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez. 11 minutes later, the visitors were again rewarded for their consistent pressing as Benzema doubled Madrid’s lead. The French forward, who had not scored in his previous seven La Liga games, guided a James Rodriguez free-kick to score his seventh goal of the season. Benzema then returned the favour to James just before the half-hour mark as he set-up the Colombian to finish off a counter-attack.
Marco Asensio put the game to the bed after scoring Madrid’s fourth at the hour mark before Ruben Pena scored a consolation goal after 72 minutes. The home team upped the ante in the final moments of the game but Los Blancos held firm to register a comfortable win.

My main takeaway from Real Madrid's match against Eibar:
-Asensio must play more often.

Asensio had an open net but you need to go out and play some football if you think that finish was easy.
