The fifth season of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League kicked off in a grand fashion in Hyderabad with the hosts beating one of the four new teams who is taking part in the three-month long tournament.

Rahul Chaudhari, the skipper of the home team won the toss and opted to raid first. In the first half, the team from Hyderabad took a crucial eight-point lead and managed to maintain it in the second half as well to register a win in their very first game.

The player of the match for Telugu Titans was their captain, who was absolutely brilliant and dominated the proceedings from the beginning. His counterpart Ajay Thakur though looked a bit off-color and failed to make any impression on the game and was seen on the bench for the most part of the game, which in the end was the main reason for the team’s downfall in their debut match.

However, the new rules gave the losing team something to cheer for, as Sachin Tendulkar’s Tamil Thalaivas managed to sneak in a point by keeping the deficit of loss under seven points.
