Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis crashes out of Rogers cup. After a successful Wimbledon campaign, the duo was defeated by Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
The Indo-Swiss pair struggled to maintain a high first serve percentage and won just 15 of their 27 first serve points whereas, the French- Slovenian pair maintained a high first serve percentage of 71 and won 27 of their 37 first serve points.
Sania and Hingis managed to covert just 2 of their 6 break points where as Caroline and Katarina managed to convert 5 of their 9 break points.
The Indo-Swiss pair was expected to shine in the Rogers cup once again after their triumph in Wimbledon but unfortunately they crashed out of the semis. The pair shared USD 32,520 and earned 350 points each.
However, the Indo-Swiss pair would be looking to make the most out the opportunities in Cincinnati masters which is the last tournament before US Open and get into shape for the last grand slam of the year.
