Liverpool look set to sign the next “Gianluigi Buffon”

Genoa’s Mattia Perin is the latest Goal keeper to be linked with a switch to Anfield this season. As per the reports from Sky Sports Italia, Liverpool have contacted Perin’s agent Matteo Roggi for the player’s availability.

Peter Cech has been a constant name rumoured with a transfer to Liverpool. Apart from Cech, Guillermo Ochoa, The Mexican International Goal Keeper has been heavily linked with Liverpool and if reports are to believe the Anfield club has already agreed a £3 Million move for Ochoa from his current side Malaga.

Liverpool’s interest in all these Goal Keepers is definitely a clear indication of how much Mignolet’s position in the Liverpool squad is in danger. Mattia Perin, 22 years old Genova Goal Keeper has made a huge name for himself in the current season’s Serie A.

Mattia Perin joined Genova from Pescara in 2013 and since then he has been tipped for greatness by the Italian Football experts. Perin has been talked to be the ideal replacement for Gianluigi Buffon in the Italian International set up. Reports from Italian media confirm Liverpool’s genuine interest in Genova’s highly rated Goal Keeper Mattia Perin.

Genoa would look to make the most of the interest Perin is getting. In recent weeks Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest Perin. Juventus will always keep an eye on him since he is Italian and Buffon is nearing an end to his career and Perin would be an ideal replacement.

Mattia Perin’s Matteo Roggi has been making many claims about his client. He was speaking to TMW recently and he was heard saying:

“Any important club on a European level that has important sums to invest cannot help but think of Mattia,”

“They would have a very reliable goalkeeper for the next 20 years and the chance to spread the cost out over time. A bit like what Juventus did with Buffon

“You can never say never because if in January somebody came with an undeniably good offer, then he would leave.”

These comments do indicate that a move in January is on the cards and Genova must be prepared with a bid anytime soon for their prized asset which is valued in the region of £15 Million.
