The entire internet frenzy was taken aback when John Cena posted an image of Virat Kohli on his Instagram account. Cena has no connection with the Indian test skipper. So, the fact why the franchise of the WWE would have posted an Indian cricketer’s picture on his social media account was indeed a matter of interest.
The poster showed Kohli in the Indian jersey. In the background, the “bleed blue” anthem was visible, too. Don’t get confused by thinking that Cena is cheering team India for their ongoing West Indies tour. He does have a little interest in Cricket. The real reason is quirky one and bound to grab a lot of attention.
It was a monumental occasion in WWE’s history as the WWE brand extension Draft did take place on July 19th to separate Raw and Smackdown. The draft was held to emphasize more on the Smackdown brand and made it stand strong with the original flagship show of Raw. The notable thing is here John Cena was drafted to Smackdown from Raw roster.
It is worthy to mention that the Cenation leader is the face of the company for a decade now and for a proper reason he’s been a part of the Monday Night Raw brand from 2005 when he was drafted to Raw. It was the first time after 11 long years that he was transferred to the blue brand as to focus more on the separate brand.
Now then when he will be promoting the blue brand in the upcoming days, he started with the picture of Virat Kohli with the “bleed blue” background. He may not be aware that this was the team anthem for the Indian Cricket team in recent past. Right after posting Kohli’s picture, he added another which said “keep calm and bleed blue” which supports the fact, further. In the process of promoting the newly re-constructed Smackdown brand, we got a little connection between WWE and Cricket.
