This is going to be the eighth Money in the Bank PPV in WWE history on this Sunday at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Previously, WWE used to hold it as a one-off match at Wrestlemania. But, the popularity around this gimmick increased day by day and the company came up with the idea of an entire PPV with this gimmick starting from 2010.

This is going to one historic edition of the event since for the first-time ever the female superstars present in the brand will also fight to get the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above their head. Plus, six prime superstars from the Smackdown roster will compete in the original match.

The winner of the contest will earn his rights to be called Mr. or Miss Money in the Bank and thereby get a championship opportunity. He or she can demand a title shot by cashing the contract given in the briefcase in order to compete in a title match. Since this will happen at the superstar’s term, it is guaranteed that the winner will become champion, one day.

This year, the PPV will be hosted as a brand-exclusive PPV. Till date, five matches were officially announced for the night. Check the match card for Money in the Bank here with predictions:

The Usos vs. The New Day (Smackdown tag team championships)
Prediction: The New Day is newer members of the Smackdown brand in comparison to The Usos who is running things here for a long time. Quite expectedly, they have been holding the title and will retain it for some more time.

Naomi vs. Lana (Smackdown Women’s Championship)
Prediction: It is quite surprising to see Lana getting a championship match despite not competing in one singles contest on Smackdown. This will be a cakewalk for Naomi as she walks out as the reigning champion.

Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship)
Prediction: WWE plans to keep Jinder Mahal as the champion at least until Summerslam. There’s no way that he is going to lose it, this early. He will find a way to win against Orton in his hometown of St. Louis.

Women’s Money in the Bank contract for Smackdown women’s championship
Prediction: Carmella is the front-runner to win this contest with James Ellsworth being the helping hand. However, Natalya or Beck Lynch has some chances, definitely.

Money in the Bank Contract for the WWE Championship
Prediction: Baron Corbin is the most expected one to win it, this year. Being the heel favours him the most. However, there are also speculations that Nakamura might turn out to be the one. The crowd will erupt in joy once that happens.
