WWE News: WWE Officials Are Extremely Happy With The Success Of Brand Split


  • The WWE Draft returned last year to separate Raw and Smackdown like they were in their earlier phase. The brand separation officially took place in the inaugural Smackdown Live episode on July 19th, 2016. The monumental occasion changed the complexion of the two WWE products, completely.

    Two separate rosters were made on both Raw and Smackdown. Previously, Smackdown used to be a taped show. From that point onwards it has become a live show. The live events started to take place separately on either Raw or Smackdown brand rather than comprising superstars from both the brands.

    Thanks to the separation, numerous mid-card superstars like Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, and more rose to the occasions to become the main event guys in the WWE. Also, WWE started the trend to organise the brand exclusive PPVs. Never before in the history of the WWE, it happened, before 2016.

    As you have seen, the entire process of WWE programming was revamped with this one move. The fans were happy since they wanted to see it for the past few years. But also, there were some doubts amongst the officials whether this move would be successful or not.

    According to the reports of cagesideseats.com, the WWE creative is happier with the way the entire process of brand extension turned out to be. They are overjoyed with the fact that the main focus to differentiate Smackdown from Raw was successful.
    The in-ring contents, as well as the non-wrestling components, have also been unique on both the shows. Also, the animosity and competition between the two brands, the on-screen storylines have been good, overall. This increased the quality contents, in turn making things better.

    Going by the source, WWE officials are planning even bigger to make the two brands more unique. No definite move was disclosed in the report. But, it is expected that the PPV programming and also the switch between the two brands would make things even greater than before.

    Previously, it was reported that WWE might end the brand exclusive PPV trend with less intrigued matches. But, now that this news has surfaced, the chances of the same might be wiped out. They would rather be happy with the four dual brand PPVs in the calendar.
