Neville is known as a veteran wrestler around the world. Over the years, he has performed a number of promotions earning quite a respect among the wrestlers.

Prior to signing with the WWE, he had competed New Japan Pro-wrestling, Ring of Honour, and even TNA Impact Wrestling.

Later, he was offered a contract with the WWE in 2012 and headed to the NXT. Considering his agility inside the ring, it was evident that he is going to be the mainstay on the division. Quite expectedly, he became the NXT champion, thereafter and stayed on the top for a significant amount of time.

Later, he landed on the main roster in the year 2015 which marked the downfall for him. He was a victim of bad booking by the creative and found to be nowhere. Also, he suffered a nasty ankle injury just prior to Wrestlemania 32 forcing him to get sidelined for a long time.

However, this hiatus helped him a lot since he returned with an evil gimmick which took him to the spotlight that he needed. The heel turn earned him the Cruiserweight championship making him the “King of The Cruiserweights.”

As per the latest updates, he will lose the Cruiserweight title soon to Austin Aries and might get moved to the main roster. A rematch with the number one contender might be confirmed for the Extreme Rules PPV in the near future. After losing the title, he might be used on the main roster, again.

The indication was clear from the quotes of Raw GM, Kurt Angle in a recent Facebook Q & A session. He was asked about the potential of Neville when he stated that he has all the tools to be a main eventer from his mid-card status, soon.

So, it’s just a matter of time when he will join the main roster. Angle also compared him with Rey Mysterio considering the in-ring technician that Neville is. This was his statement:

“I really like Neville. He has the ability to cross over from the 205 division to the HWT division. He’s so talented as a wrestler, and his character is strong. He can speak very well and his style will mesh well with the heavyweights. Almost like Rey Mysterio was able to mesh with the big boys. Neville is very talented.”
