The show started as Daniel Bryan came out to the arena. Fans gave him a standing ovation. Bryan entered the ring, Byron Saxton was present inside the ring to interview Bryan. Byron told Bryan that he looked to be in good spirit. Bryan told that it was obvious for him to be in good spirit, he was back at home where he belonged and he was ready to fight. Byron said that they were thrilled to have him back, but on that night he was going to face the man who drove him out of action last year. The footage from last year was shown on the big screen where Bryan was destroyed by Kane.
After the footage, Bryan said that he was taking things quite seriously, nobody knew how dangerous Kane was more than he did. He was out for nine months. Bryan reminded that Kane and Bryan were friends earlier, they were known as ‘Team Hell No,’ and they were tag team champions for nine months. Bryan considered Kane a friend and a brother. But Kane stabbed him and fans on the moment he traded his mask in for a suit. And since that time, he had doctors after doctors telling him he would never wrestle again. But he was back in action, and he did not care whatever the doctors had to say, he knew that he was ready.
Bryan accepted that he was a little bit worried about his neck. He did not know what would happen to him until he fought. But he prove that he was ready for action, and he would prove it by beating Kane on that night and by winning the match against him and in two weeks at the Royal Rumble pay per view event, he would win the Royal Rumble match and in three months at WrestleMania 31, he would win the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
Bryan said that a lot of people thought he could not continue as he used to, but he thought that he could, these people believed that he could do it. He started chanting ‘Yes!’ with the fans.
The Authority (Triple H, Kane, Big Show, Seth Rollins and J & J security) interfered. They did not say anything and just headed towards the ring. Eden Stiles announced the one on one contest between Daniel Bryan and Kane was next. Kane entered the ring for the fight as the rest of the authority members surrounded the ring.
Match 1 – Daniel Bryan def. Kane by Disqualification: Thursday nights will never be the same again as SmackDown moved to its new night. On the Thursday night premiere, Daniel Bryan’s clash with Kane escalated into a huge Six-Man Tag Team Match main event, Paul Heyman came face-to-face with the “future of WWE” in a heated standoff and much more!
SmackDown started its Thursday night tenure off on the right foot as Daniel Bryan opened the show in great spirits during an in-ring interview with one of SmackDown’s new announcers: Byron Saxton. Kane soon emerged, however, with Big Show and The Authority in tow. After being sidelined for eight months, The Beard showed little to no ring rust in his match against WWE’s Director of Operations. Unfortunately, the “Yes!” Man’s hellish clash with his former Team Hell No partner was interrupted by J&J Security, forcing the referee to call for the bell and setting the bearded Superstar up for a potential post-match assault at the hands of The Authority. Luckily, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns arrived to even the odds, prompting Triple H to make a huge Six-Man Tag Team main event pitting Bryan, Reigns & Ambrose against Rollins, Big Show & Kane!
Match 2 – The Miz, Damien Mizdow & Alicia Fox def. The Usos & Naomi: The Miz put his stunt double Damien Mizdow to good use in a Mixed Tag Team Match, aligning the Hollywood duo with Alicia Fox against WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos & Naomi. The self-proclaimed “A-lister” pushed his popular sidekick in front of a superkick from Jimmy Uso, allowing the movie star to nail the Samoan warrior with the Skull-Crushing Finale for the victory.
Will we witness a similar ending at the Royal Rumble when The Miz & Damien Mizdow challenge The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Titles?
Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins engaged in a heated faceoff
Paul Heyman came out to the arena. Footage from last week was shown where Rollins argued with Cena and Lesnar a little during the official contract for the WWE World Heavyweight championship match at Royal Rumble pay per view event and started fighting with him. Lensar came out and hit German Suplexes to both Cena and Rollins. Cena quickly stood up and nailed Lesnar with the AA through the table. As Cena was busy taunting Triple H, Rollins Curb Stomped Cena. Lesnar was slowly backing on his feet, Rollins Curb Stomped him too. Rollins left with the authority celebrating as Cena and Lesnar remained inside the ring out.
What was surely arranged to be a civil contract signing between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and his two No. 1 contenders turned into an all-out car wreck when Seth Rollins seized the opportunity to humiliate both John Cena and The Beast Incarnate as only Seth Rollins can. This came after Paul Heyman gave his second address of the night, following his “return to the scene of the crime” by promising the destruction of anyone who stepped into Lesnar’s path.
Rollins attack him with the Money in the Bank briefcase. What ensued was a quick, brutal flurry of physicality. Lesnar German suplexed Cena and Rollins clean into the air; Cena countered with an AA to Lesnar through the table and then Rollins provided the two cherries on top by Curb Stomping both Lesnar and Cena to end the show – and, potentially, The Beast’s title reign – on his own terms.
Paul Heyman entered the ring and reminded that he was the advocate of the reigning, defending, undisputed WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. Heyman admitted that he was scared man on that night, he told that Brock Lesnar was a beast, he did whatever he wanted. He conquered the undefeated streak of the Undertaker because he wanted to do it, and he could do whatever he wanted. He had nothing personal against the Undertaker, he wanted to conquer the streak and he did it. He demolished John Cena at Summerslam and took the title away from him like taking the candy away from a baby. Brock Lesnar could anything he wished.
But now, Lesnar had a purpose for his fight, he wanted to f5 the future of WWE Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins interfered the arena as he entered the ring along with the J & J security. Rollins said that he was sick and tired of hearing the thing that people should be afraid of Brock Lesnar. He was sick hearing the thing that he hid behind the authority and J & J security. He told Heyman that he was not afraid of Brock Lesnar. He told that he was sick of it so he wanted to cash in his contract, he wanted to face Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight championship on that night.
Heyman said that it could not be happen since his client was not present. Rollins said that if he could not Curb Stomp Lesnar then he would Curb Stomp Heyman. Heyman said that Curb Stomping him would not make him tough, Rollins said not tough but Smart. He wanted to take away Brock’s greatest asset. Then at Royal Rumble he would beat Brock Lesnar down. He had Curn Stomped Lesnar not once but twice and at Royal Rumble he was going to do it for the third time and would walk out as the WWE World Heavyweight champion.
Heyman told that the authority was back in power did not mean that they could be removed again by hook or by crook. Since Heyman was back in power he gained from everything from the achievements of his client. Brock Lesnar could defend his title as well as he could protect the new champion which Heyman decided the future was now.
After his client, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar got Curb Stomped to conclude Raw, Paul Heyman was clearly in a less than cheerful mood when he walked into a SmackDown ring. Nevertheless, a fired up Seth Rollins was not afraid to cut off Lesnar’s advocate before announcing that he was ready to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase right then and there. The only problem was that The Beast Incarnate was not in the building, so Mr. Money in the Bank instead contemplated delivering a Curb Stomp to a cornered Heyman.
Somehow, The Beast Incarnate’s outspoken mouthpiece managed to talk his way out of another jam with a vague statement about the unpredictable future of The Authority’s rule and his own rise in power.
Match 3 – Natalya def. Nikki Bella: The Bella Twins got a taste of their own medicine when Brie Bella’s attempt to distract Natalya on the ring apron backfired. As The Bella Twin held the attention of The Queen of Harts and the referee, Paige smacked a fallen Nikki Bella. The strike allowed Natalya to lock in the Sharpshooter, forcing the Divas Champion to tap out in the non-title match.
Match 4 – WWE Intercontinental championship – Bad News Barrett def. Sin Cara to retain the Intercontinental championship: After defeating Bad News Barrett in a non-title match last week on SmackDown, Sin Cara received an Intercontinental Title Match against the British brawler on SmackDown’s return to Thursday night.
The high-flying Superstar pushed the titleholder to the limit, at one point demonstrating remarkable power by lifting the 240-plus-pound Superstar straight off the mat into a powerful slam. Unfortunately for the masked Superstar, he was unable to hit his signature Senton Bomb, allowing the former bare-knuckle boxer the opportunity to connect with the Bad News Bull Hammer Elbow in mid-air for the victory.
Main Event – Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose def. Seth Rollins, Big Show & Kane: You just knew SmackDown’s huge main event featuring Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose versus Seth Rollins, Big Show & Kane would be a highlight reel of action, and the Six-Man Tag Team Match didn’t disappoint.
Amid the chaotic contest, The Beard put an exclamation point on his in-ring return by hitting Corporate Kane with a running knee to pick up the victory. But alas, WWE COO Triple H just couldn’t let the WWE Universe end the evening on a high note, as he announced that next Thursday night on SmackDown, the “Yes!” Man will battle Corporate Kane in a rematch. And if Bryan loses, he will relinquish his spot in the Royal Rumble Match.
