Smackdown Live is giving a tough competition to the flagship show of the company, WWE Raw in terms of TV ratings for the last couple of weeks. The show-runners are always ready for us with a compact show. Last week, even the Talking Smack show was all over the internet courtesy the brilliant shoot segment between Daniel Bryan and The Miz. We are bound to see some fall-out from that on tonight’s show.

We are just two weeks away from the first-ever brand specific pay-per-view i.e. Backlash on September 11, hosted by Smackdown Live. So, the championship rivalry between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose is about to hype up on Smackdown, tonight.

AJ Styles is all fired up after his dream win against John Cena at Summerslam and with all the momentum by his side, he will not spare one single opportunity to take Dean Ambrose’s title. The expectation with him is to continue with the dirty games with Ambrose since he is likely to become the next World champion at the Backlash PPV.
Also, Last week we saw not one but two brand new titles for Smackdown Live. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan unveiled the new tag team titles and the Women’s championship for the show.

With that being said, we already have a six pack challenge waiting for us at Backlash for the Women’s championship. We can expect Nikki Bella to get redemption against Carmella from her last week’s assault. She is supposedly going to be the first-ever Smackdown brand Women’s champion if going by the rumors.

Also, we have an exciting tag team tournament to choose the two opponents for the championship match at Backlash. The American Alpha and The Usos already advanced in the tournament. Two more teams will join them on tonight’s show. Expect one to be the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno and be ready to get a surprise for the last team of the tournament.
