BWF World Championship: Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponappa into the third round

The Indian pair of Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponappa beat Chinese Taipei Hsei Pei Chen and Wu Tin Yung in the second round of the BWF World Championship played at Jakarta just few hours ago. It was a dominating performance by the Indian pair which did not allow the Chinese Taipei pair to enter into the game.

In the first game Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponappa started off to an aggressive start taking a 4-1 lead. The Indian pair did not allow any chance to come back into the game. At the interval the Indian pair led 11-4. After the interval the Indian pair continued their domination and won the first game with ease 21-10.  

In the second game both pairs started off to a great note it was equal till 8-8. After that the Indian pair dominated the match and did not let the match slip away from them. At the interval the Indian pair led 11-8. After the interval the Indian pair managed to take a 4 point lead in the entire game and won it 21-18 and progress to next round.

In the other women’s doubles Sikki Reddy and P Gadree were knocked out in the 2nd round. In the men’s singles HS Prannoy won his second round match and progress to the 3rd round.
