A jovial Sindhu said that it was an easy contest for her today and she hopes to continue it tomorrow as well,

“It has been pretty easy today. I hope that it continues tomorrow. I am better and totally fine, so it is really exciting,” she said after her first victory in single’s event.

Sindhu suffered an injury scare before the start of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

She did not participate in the team event that ended yesterday (April 10).

Led by Saina Nehwal, the Indian team defeated heavyweight Malaysia by 3-1 to win first ever Gold medal in badminton team event.

Meanwhile, Nehwal also posted an easy win over South Africa’s Elsie de Villiers.

Just like PV Sindhu, she also needed just 18 minutes to finish the game.

Never during the contest, De Villiers seemed to give any competition to Saina.

She struggled all throughout the 18 minutes and Saina posted an easy win by 21-3 and 21-1,

“It has been a long week. I just want to be focused and enjoy the tournament. The plus point is I have been playing on this court. When you play somewhere for a week or two you get used to the conditions, so I think that is what happened,” Saina said after her contest.
