Saina Nehwal loses in the quarter finals of Asian Badminton Championship

Saina Nehwal lost to Tai Tzu Ying in grueling three setter 21-16, 13-21, 18-21 in the quarter-finals of the Asian badminton Championship just few moments ago. It was an excellent performance by Saina but Tai was better performer on the day.

Saina Nehwal began on a positive note getting the lead from the start. At the interval, it was 11-9 in favor of Saina. After the interval, Saina was at her best and played some excellent smashes. Tai tried to comeback in the game but Saina took the first game 21-16.

In the second game, Tai took the lead from the start and played some excellent rallies. At the interval, it was 11-6 in favor of Tai. After the interval, Tai continued dominate the game and did not allow Saina to comeback in the game and won the game 21-13.

In the deciding game, Tai showed her class and dominated Saina. Tai was leading 9-4 and then at interval led 11-5. After the interval, Saina then made a comeback to reduce the gap to 11-14. It was neck to neck game as Saina reduced the gap from 11-14 to 14-16.

At one stage, Saina made a great comeback and was at 17-18. Tai took three successive points to make it 20-17. Tai won the game 21-18. It was a brilliant performance by Saina who came back from a hopeless situation and made a match out of it.
