Want to be a professional cricketer?
Star Indian pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has revealed the one mantra that he learned from former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and has helped him achieve a lot of success in international cricket. Dhoni was last seen in the Indian colours in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Unfortunately, India lost the game to New Zealand and were eliminated from the competition. Since then, Dhoni has been away from the Indian team.
His return was much anticipated with the return of IPL 2020 this year as he was back to the field sweating it hard for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the BCCI had to postpone the tournament indefinitely due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. And, this has again given way to speculations on Dhoni’s future with Team India.
Now, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has opened up on the one MS Dhoni formula that has helped him a lot in scaling up the heights of world cricket.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Reveals One MS Dhoni Formula That Has Helped Him Achieve A Lot Of Success
One of the most successful bowlers in the IPL history, Bhuvneshwar, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad, said one of the biggest reasons behind his success in the tournament was Dhoni’s ideology to follow the process and not the result.
“Like M.S. Dhoni, I try to detach myself from the result and focus on small things, which I also refer to as process. And this helps in getting the desired outcome. During IPL when I had a couple of good seasons, I was in this ‘zone’. I was so focused on my process, that the result had become secondary. And results were positive,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar told ESPNCricinfo.
Former Cricketers Divided On MS Dhoni’s Return To Team India
Recently, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star batsman Suresh Raina said MS Dhoni did not show any signs of ageing and that he was hitting the big sixes at will, as usual during the training camp in Chennai. Laxmipathy Balaji, the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings, also vouched for MS Dhoni’s return.
On the other hand, former wicketkeeper-batsman, Deep Dasgupta had said that MS Dhoni should have kept playing domestic cricket if he aspired a return to the Indian team. Kris Srikkanth also noted that if the IPL does not take place, Dhoni’s return looks impossible. Gautam Gambhir and Ashish Nehra also had similar views to those of Srikkanth.
