It has been a blistering night so far for the Kings XI Punjab at Mohali. The collective batting effort that was led by Nicholas Pooran and Sam Curran in the middle overs helped them to post a massive tally on the board. In between, Kolkata Knight Riders were once again on the wrong side of things on the field despite getting the initial advantage.
Initially, it was Dinesh Karthik, who won the toss, chose to bowl first. They got the initial breakthrough by removing KL Rahul for a cheap score, who was quickly followed by Chris Gayle. The young Sandeep Warrier has been the star with the ball, who bagged both the wickets of the top-class players.
However, then came the blistering knock from Nicholas Pooran, who smashed KKR bowlers to all corners of the park. He was joined by Mayank Agarwal, who helped Kings XI to up the ante in the middle overs.
Then came the surprise move from Dinesh Karthik, which yielded success for KKR. Nitish Rana dismissed the dangerous Nicholas Pooran in the middle, who was quickly followed by Mayank Agarwal when Rinku Singh affected a run-out in the match.
However, Mayank Agarwal came good for the team in the middle overs alongside Sam Curran, who finally delivered with the bat for the team. The duo never let down the run-rate, which saw them sealing the things in the end.
Just when things look good, Harry Gurney picked up the wicket of Mandeep Singh to make the difference. All in all, Kings XI Punjab managed to post 183 runs on the board. Sam Curran smashed brilliant fifty in the end.

Sam Curran's Timing Rating of 163 is the highest of any @lionsdenkxip player this season. No player to face more than 25 balls has a higher run rate than Curran's 9.57 RPO; not even Gayle (9.52). @KKRiders #IPL #KXIPvKKR

Rinku Singh missing a dolly of a catch is as self destructing as it can get. Considering the fact that he is seen on TV only because he is called on the field due to his excellent fielding skills. 😬#IPL2019 #KXIPvKKR #PlayoffMode

@KKRiders no unity in team, no culture, Players are showing their frustration on the field. @DineshKarthik as player he is okay but not as a Leader. He should lead from the front, he is not capable of doing it and not mingling with team. #KXIPvKKR

Ashwin beat Williamson in having a bad season as a team captain #KXIPvKKR

Why is Ashwin behaving like Hardik Pandya and failed miserably, could have just taken a single and given it to Sam Curran who is playing a cameo poor poor thought process by Ashwin and it was done instinctively 😀😀😀#KXIPvKKR

Sam Curran > David Miller
And I am not even considering Curran's bowling abilities right now #KXIPvKKR

Curran continuing the legacy of making teams pay for dropping your catch.
First against India in England and now against KKR. #KXIPvKKR

#KXIPvKKR on big grounds teams that do not know how to milk the bowling by taking ones and twos are teams that will lose

Nicholas Pooran has more sixes than fours in his T20 career. Its clearly evident in this IPL season.

Pooran being batted where he should. No wonder he is contributing better.
