IPL 2019: Ravichandran Ashwin Mocks CSK After The Loss, Fans Lash Out

It was an epic clash on the last night at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Chennai Super Kings were outsmarted by Mumbai Indians in all sections of the game to see a loss in the final of the tournament. Meanwhile, the former CSK player Ravichandran Ashwin made a cheeky tweet after the final loss.

Perhaps, Ravichandran Ashwin has lost his love for the Chennai team after being left out in the previous year auction. In the previous year auction, CSK has signed many of their older players and then signed Harbhajan Singh ahead of Ashwin alongside Imran Tahir. This would have made Ravichandran Ashwin support Mumbai in the final.

Last night, it was the show from the Chennai Super Kings‘ bowlers before Kieron Pollard delivering the goods in the end. However, MS Dhoni-led CSK would have been happy to restrict Mumbai to just 149 on the board.

Initially, Quinton took on CSK fast bowlers to the cleaners before being dismissed to Shardul Thakur in the powerplay. He was quickly followed by the dismissal of Rohit Sharma, which made things look bleak for Chennai Super Kings. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan balanced things in the middle.

Just when things looked in control for Mumbai, then came the brilliant spell of bowling from Imran Tahir, who dismissed Suryakumar Yadav. His wicket was quickly followed by the dismissal of Krunal Pandya when Shardul took a stunner of the catches in his own bowling.

In reply to the chase, Chennai Super Kings lost Faf du Plessis after a good start but the lack of partnerships failed to make things fall in place for CSK. However, Shane Watson played a blistering knock but, unfortunately, ended up on the wrong side of things.

In the end, it was Lasith Malinga, who delivered the goods alongside Jasprit Bumrah to help Mumbai Indians lift the cup once again for Mumbai Indians.

Well, coming to the topic, Ravichandran Ashwin’s tweet read ”Ohhhhh?☺️ great game of cricket. Well done to @mipaltan and @ImRo45. Bad luck to @ChennaiIPL and @msdhoni
